About the Event
At this retreat, we will be invited to explore biblical women in the Old Testament, focusing on Eve and Miriam in particular. These two women have often been overlooked and overinterpreted in their context and ours, and we will be revisiting them with fresh eyes, seeking to discover how they can enrich our faith lives. We will look at biblical texts, the history of their interpretation in Judaism and Christianity, and modern perspectives on these women from biblical studies, art, and culture. Our goal will be to come to a place where we can consider what these women might mean for our own spiritual lives–might they function as older sisters to us in the faith? Fee: $50 or whatever you can afford. Light lunch and refreshments provided.
